The project starts with my personal interest in kids. How are the kids thinking with the world? It is the nature of the kids that they will pick up the behavior of those around them without intention and without thinking critique. And language is the main affecting how the kids grow up. And it comes up with the statement that “Kid’s identity is formed by a parent’s language”.

Every young adult has the potential power to help the entire world. He just needs the right guidance and support” — Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan

So, the question is “How do languages of parents affect the kid’s identity?”

Kids begin to ask identity questions at an early age. Who am I? Who is my family? Where do I belong? These are all standard questions kids ask to determine how they fit into their world. Like in the theory, between 1–3 months of age, kids begin to recognize their parents by sign, sound, and identity.

Every kid grows up in a different environment and family, so the languages that each family uses to the kids are variety and it comes from cultural identity and the kids receive that. So, the different languages that each kid grows up, it is highly related to their parents.

Moreover, I have read the theory of Jacques Lacan that is the mirror stage. It is a concept in the psychoanalytic. The kids since infants they will recognize themselves in a mirror or other symbolic contraption which induces apperception (the turning of oneself into an object that can be viewed by the kids from outside themselves) from the age of about six months. And this is the theory that kids create their identity. So, parents are the main factor that kids pick up to recognize.

For this project, I purpose that I want to change how we think and give the awareness that language is the main factor that shapes a kid and they will remember as they were an early age, so good speech and language should be used for them.

Furthermore, in the next stage, I will research more on differences theory about the imitation of kids and look to the other aspects of the kid’s identity to go more deeper. And I will experiment more to make the visual that more affective to my project with many different mediums to find the best medium to express my project.

My area practice is molding, molding clay, handcrafting, and installation.
